Glacier Accessibility

Usually, the glaciers, icebergs, and ice caves are accessible so long as the U.S. Forest Service opens these areas for motorized use. If so this will be our goal.

If mother nature does not allow this to happen, then do not worry. Snowmobiling in the Chugach Mountains is by far the most scenic and awe-inspiring in the world. Photo ops are everywhere and you will not be disappointed! Check out the Scenic Mountain Tour views on Trip Advisor!

Location

We are located in Girdwood, Alaska approximately 35 miles south of Anchorage on the corner of the New Seward and Alyeska Highways. Take the New Seward Highway “1” south out of Anchorage to mile marker 90. Girdwood is the biggest town you will come to after leaving Anchorage. You will see signs for Girdwood and the Alyeska Resort. Turn left (the only left into town) onto the Alyeska Highway and then make an immediate right into the Tesoro Gas Station & Mini-mall. There are several shops attached to the gas station. Our shop is the Great Alaskan Tourist Trap located next to the Ice Cream Shop. Its an upscale gift shop with a humorous twist. This is where we will, “Suit ya and boot ya”

Transportation

Glacier City Snowmobile Tours provides free transportation in the Girdwood Valley. Options from Anchorage include all major car rental agencies or private transportation. If you prefer private transportation, we recommend Four Seasons Transportation – call Dave at 1-907-744-4946. Cost is $138 each way for up to 4 people. There is no public transportation from Anchorage.
